STORIES INTERNATIONAL ADDS WRITING DUO CHRISTINE BERG AND SIMON SHTERENBERG AS CREATIVE MANAGEMENT CLIENTS
STORIES INTERNATIONAL, INC., the U.S. arm of STORIES LLC, a joint venture production company of iconic video game brand SEGA and Hakuhodo DY Group, seventh-largest ad agency worldwide, has signed writing team Christine Berg and Simon Shterenberg as clients of the company’s creative management division.
Writing partners of two years, Berg and Shterenberg are members of the Creative Visions Foundation Creative Activist Program, where they wrote the aberrant superhero sendup short film WONDER BUFFALO, earning mentions in Variety.
Recently, Netflix acquired the dramatic feature UNDERGROUND written by Christine Berg and Gerard Mc Murray for financing and distribution. The story sends the audience deep into Hell Week, as a pledgee is torn between honoring his code of silence or standing up against the violence of underground hazing. UNDERGROUND will be simultaneously available on Netflix in more than 190 countries.
Berg, born in Thailand, and Shterenberg, born in Israel, together make an eclectic and globally aware duo that enjoys tackling cultural, social, and political issues in their writing. The duo has traveled the world extensively and speaks several languages.
Berg, a US Army veteran, was a participant in the 2013 Military Veteran Writing Retreat at the Writer’s Guild of America. She earned an MFA in Film and Television Production from The University of Southern California and a B.A. in Cinema Production from San Francisco State University.
“Christine has the heart of a lion, and Simon has the analytical mind of a true master. Together, they are the perfect writing team, and we are so fortunate to help guide them to create incredibly powerful, evocative, and game-changing work in film and television,” explains Evan J. Cholfin, Head of Development and Production at STORIES INTERNATIONAL.
Tomoya Suzuki, STORIES’ President and CEO, elaborates, “Christine and Simon’s pioneering and unfettered spirit shines through their writing. We will have great opportunities with them here in Hollywood and worldwide.”
The duo is currently developing several feature and television projects with STORIES.
