Merete Mueller is an award-winning director specializing in documentary stories and doc-style branded content and commercials. Her work has screened at SXSW, Hot Docs, DOC NYC, Rooftop Films and The Brooklyn Museum, via Al Jazeera, the Canadian Broadcasting Channel, Netflix, The New York Times’ Op-Docs series, and in The New Yorker, The Atlantic and VICE. With a strong sense of story and eye for subtle visual details, Merete has covered environmental issues, design and technology, and told intimate stories about health and body image. Her first feature-length documentary, TINY, explored the burgeoning “tiny house” movement through one couple’s attempt to build a 120-square foot house with no construction experience. The film premiered at SXSW and became one of the most popular indie releases on Netflix and iTunes that year. Merete also produced episodes of the investigative TV documentary series “Weediquette” and has directed commercial and editorial segments for clients including Ford, Toyota Prius, Bose, Facebook, Citibank, Cadbury, Vox Media, Vice Media, and Conde Nast Entertainment.
