Jacob has written films for The Jim Henson Company, Cirque du Soleil, Amazon Studios, and more. Most recently, Jacob won the 2016 “Crash the Super Bowl” contest with his commercial “Doritos Dogs”, which aired during the Super Bowl and earned him a $1 million prize along with the opportunity to collaborate with director Zack Snyder, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Jacob directed the feature film The Four-Faced Liar which premiered at Slamdance Film Festival, and went on to win the HBO Audience Award for “Best First Feature” at Outfest. Recently, Vulture.com listed The Four-Faced Liar as one of the “27 Great Indie Romantic-Comedies From the Last 10 Years.” Jacob directed the short film After-School Special written by Neil LaBute and starring Sarah Paulson and Wes Bentley. After-School Special has been screened at 50+ film festivals including Palm Springs International Shortfest and Hollyshorts where Chase won the “Future Filmmaker Award.” Additionally, the short gained a worldwide theatrical release. Jacob also directed the Vimeo Staff Pick short “Amy”, which was selected for Short of the Week. He recently wrote and directed Larry, and a feature film based in the short is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners. In addition to his film and theater work, Jacob is the creative director of “Big Worm’s Sherwood Scare,” a non-profit haunted house that runs during the Halloween season and raises money for Big Worm’s Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
